Three teenagers charged after 'tampering with lifeboat' at RNLI station

Three teenagers have been charged after an incident at a lifeboat station in Dundee.

The boys were said to have been caught on CCTV climbing over the security fence at the Broughty Ferry RNLI station and tampering with the lifeboat on Saturday, April 2.

Police have confirmed two 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old had now been charged with reckless conduct in connection with the incident.

They will be reported to the youth justice assessor.

A spokesperson said: “On Saturday, 2 April, 2022, officers received a report of anti-social behaviour involving youths entering the secure area at RNLI on Fisher Street in Broughty Ferry.

“Three male youths, aged 15, 15 and 14, have been charged with reckless conduct in connection with the incident and will be reported to the youth justice assessor in due course.

“The Longhaugh Community Policing Team continue to work with our partners to tackle this type of behaviour and identify those responsible.”
