Three youths charged after 'deliberate blaze' at derelict building

Three youths have been charged in connection with a derelict building fire in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called to the blaze on Park Road just before 6pm on Monday.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched four appliances to the scene along with a height vehicle.

Videos on social media showed smoke billowing from the building, which spread across nearby homes.

The flames have since been extinguished and surrounding roads have reopened.

Police have charged three youths in connection with the incident. They are due to be reported to the relevant authorities.

A spokesperson said: “Three youths have been charged in connection with a wilful fire at a derelict building on Park Road, Aberdeen, around 6pm on Monday, August 17, 2026.

“All roads have re-opened and the youths will be reported to the relevant authority.”
