Train services suffered disruption on Tuesday after a man was found dead on the tracks in Angus.
Emergency services were called to the line in Braehead at 2.16pm, however the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rail services to Aberdeen from both Edinburgh and Glasgow were cancelled as a result of the incident, however trains returned to normal after 10pm.
The British Transport Police said enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A BTP spokesperson said: “Officers were called to the line in Braehead at 2.16pm following reports of a casualty.
“Paramedics also attended however sadly a man has been pronounced dead at the scene.
“Officers are working to establish the full circumstances behind his death.”
