Trains in Aberdeen have been cancelled all day after a car crashed into a stone wall on a bridge.
Network Rail confirmed the line between Dyce and Aberdeen will remain closed on Sunday after images showed the damage done by the crash.
The operator first closed the railway bridge around 9pm on Saturday after the crash damaged a parapet wall above the tracks.
A specialist engineer was sent to the scene to assess the damage and a team deployed to begin repairs.
ScotRail said: “Due to a road vehicle striking a bridge, the line is closed between Aberdeen and Dyce.”
Local Aberdeen/Inverurie services are cancelled, while Inverness to Aberdeen services will terminate at Dyce.
Aberdeen to Inverness services will be started from Dyce.
Ticket acceptance is also in place on Stagecoach buses from 10am on Sunday.
Network Rail said on X: “The line between Dyce and Aberdeen will remain closed today.
“We’re dealing with significant damage to a bridge over the tracks, and it’s not safe to run trains.
“Overnight we’ve made alterations to the timetable with ScotRail. Please check your journey before you travel.”
