A tree blocking a railway line in Perth is causing disruptions to train passengers on multiple services including from Glasgow and Edinburgh.
ScotRail confirmed all services running between Dunkeld and Birnam and Perth have been affected after a tree blocked the tracks on routes from Edinburgh and Glasgow to Inverness.
Network Rail staff launched an effort to remove the tree by using chainsaws around 11.45am with services expected to be disrupted until around 2pm.
Services from Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley bound for Inverness have been affected, with the 10.07am service from Glasgow due to arrive in the Highlands at 1.25pm now terminating at Perth.
A service from Edinburgh due to arrive at 2.15pm in Inverness was also terminated before it reached Dunkeld and Birnam, with the train not calling at stops such as Pitlochry, Kingussie and Aviemore.
ScotRail say services will be delayed or revised and confirmed on X the operator is in the process of arranging replacement buses for passengers affected.
They say buses are not yet confirmed.
