A man has been charged over the death of a “kind and caring mum” in Aberdeen.
Sherry Bruce was found seriously injured within a property of Glenbervie Road at around 5.30pm on Sunday.
Emergency services were called and the 58-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 26-year-old man who was also injured during the incident was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he remains.
Medical staff have described his condition as stable.
A 24-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and police confirmed on Monday that he has now been charged.
He is due to appear at court on Tuesday.
Sherry’s family say she will be “sorely missed”.
They issued the following statement through Police Scotland: “She was a kind and caring mum with a soft heart who adored everyone she met.
“She was very family oriented and devoted to her job. She was loyal and a wonderful grandmother and will be sorely missed.”
Detective Inspector Gary Winter, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with Sherry’s family at what continues to be a difficult time for them.
“I would also like to thank the local community for their patience, help and assistance during our investigation and to those who came forward with information.
“Anyone with information who has not yet come forward is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
