A football team rescued an escaped puppy from the middle of a busy road in Moray on Bonfire Night.
Turriff United were travelling home from a match against Nairn County on Saturday evening when they spotted Pomeranian cross pug Foxy dodging traffic on the A96.
After pulling over, they managed to coax the frightened dog to safety and took her home with the rest of the squad on the bus.
Foxy, who had an “accident” on one of the players laps, was successfully reunited with her owners after the team put out a social media appeal.
A post on social media from Turriff United read: “Wee bit of drama on the way home…we have acquired a poor wee toot who must have been spooked and run off.
“The wee cutie was running about the road just south of Elgin but thanks to Deano and GT jumping off the bus and coaxing her in we managed to get hold of her and take her on the team bus where she is currently loving all the attention.
“If you have lost your dog, please get in touch through the page. Please also share far and wide so we can reunite her with her rightful family.
“You may also need to pay a cleaning bill for the accident she had on Deano’s jeans.”
