A woman is in hospital following a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire on Friday afternoon.
At around 5.15pm on September 1, emergency services were called to the crash on the A96 between Pitmachie and Pitcaple.
One of the drivers, a 25-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The 33-year-old driver of the other vehicle was released into the care of family members.
The road was closed for more than two and a half hours while recovery of the vehicles was arranged and reopened shortly before 8pm.
Enquiries into the full circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.15pm on Friday, September 1, 2023, we were called to a crash involving two cars on the A96 between Pitmachie and Pitcaple, Aberdeenshire.
“Emergency services attended and the driver of one of the vehicles, a 25-year-old woman, was taken to hospital by ambulance. The 33-year-old driver of the other vehicle was released into the care of family members.
“The road was closed while recovery was arranged and reopened around 7.50pm.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
