Two men have been charged after £14,000 of heroin and crack cocaine were seized in Aberdeen on Wednesday.

Officers recovered the haul of Class-A drugs in the Ellon Road area of the city at around 12.15pm.

The men, aged 25 and 52, were arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

The pair were due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday.

Detective Constable Nick Bowyer said: “This recovery highlights our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our local communities.

“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the drugs trade and preventing their manufacture and distribution.

“Information from the public is crucial. We will continue to act on information we receive and ask anyone with information or concerns to call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
