Two men have been charged in connection with a series of fires which took place across Aberdeen.
Four fire raisings took place at properties on the city’s Provost Rust Drive, Cummings Park Crescent and Birkhall Parade between Friday and Sunday.
A car was torched on Manor Avenue in the early hours of Monday.
A 35-year-old man appeared at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, whilst a 51-year-old man is expected to appear at the same court on Tuesday
Detective Inspector Sam Buchan said: “We can be incredibly thankful that no one has been hurt as a result of these reckless and violent acts.
“We would like to thank the public for their assistance with our investigation to date and continue to appeal for information as further enquiries progress.”
Inspector Simon Lewis-Dalby added: “Understandably, these incidents continue to cause significant fear and alarm throughout the local community. There is not believed to be a risk to the wider public and there will be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.”
