Bodies of two men pulled from waterfall following search

Emergency services conducted a search of the area on Wednesday evening following reports of two men in the water.

The bodies of two men have been recovered from a waterfall in Perthshire.

Police confirmed two men, aged 22 and 26, died in the water at the Linn of Tummel waterfall near Blair Atholl at around 7pm on Wednesday.

Emergency services attended the area where the bodies of the two men were pulled from the water.

Police said enquiries remain ongoing but that there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the deaths.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Wednesday, April 17, we received a report of two men, aged 22 and 26 years, in the water at the Linn of Tummel waterfall near Blair Atholl.

“Emergency services attended and following searches in the area, the bodies of two men were recovered from the water.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances however there would not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding these deaths.

“A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
