Two people have been rushed to hospital following a crash on the A9.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision involving two vehicles near the Crossgates and Broxden Roundabout shortly after 7.30am on Monday morning.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed two patients were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee as a result of the crash.

Police closed the northbound carriageway following the collision, leading to traffic delays of up to 40 minutes.

Traffic Scotland have since confirmed that the road has reopened to drivers.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 7.41am to attend a road traffic collision on the A9 at the Crossgates-Broxden Roundabout in Perth.

“Four resources including a special operations response team (SORT) and trauma team were dispatched to the scene and two patients were transported to Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.”

A Police Scotland spokesperson previously confirmed: “A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.45am on Monday December 12, police received a report of a two-vehicle road crash on the A9, approximately half a mile from Broxden Roundabout.”
