Two people taken to hospital after crashing into tree outside Asda

Two people have been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a tree outside an Asda in Aberdeen.

Police were called to Jesmond Drive in the Bridge of Don area of the city, following reports of a car colliding with a tree outside the store at around 11.05am on Wednesday.

Emergency services attended and the fire service mobilised two appliances to assist a woman from the vehicle, before she was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with the other passenger involved, a man.

Their current condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At around 11.05am on Wednesday, September 7, we were called to a report of a car crashing into a tree at Asda Superstore, Jesmond Drive in the Bridge of Don area of Aberdeen.

“A man and a woman have been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 11.30am on Wednesday, September 7, to reports of a road traffic collision involving one car on Jesmond Drive, Aberdeen.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to assist a female casualty from the vehicle.

“A male casualty was also in the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews made the area safe before leaving the scene.”
