Two girls are due to be reported in connection with an attack on a 12-year-old in a park.

Emergency services were alerted to the assault within a Dundee park around 8.35pm on April 2.

The child was taken to Ninewells Hospital by her mum following the alleged incident. She told STV that she had been left “disgusted” by the ordeal.

She said: “My family has been left in so much pain after this. It is going to take a long time for my daughter to get over this.

“I have seen videos upon videos of kids getting battered. That was my worst fear as a parent.

“We’re all scared as parents, and something needs to be done to stop this. My child is not the first, and she probably won’t be the last.”

Police Scotland has confirmed that two girls, aged 11 and 12, are due to be reported to the authorities in connection with the attack.

A spokesperson from the force said: “Around 8.35pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, officers received a report of a girl having been assaulted at a park in Dundee.

“Two girls, aged 11 and 12, will be reported to the relevant authorities in connection with the incident.”
