Two teenage boys have been arrested for allegedly carrying bladed weapons at Europe’s longest street fair.
The Links Market, which dates back to 1304, is held annually along Kirkcaldy Esplanade in Fife, with a number of amusement rides.
The mile-long event opened on Wednesday and will run until Monday.
During the opening day, police officers charged two boys, aged 13 and 15, in connection with possessing offensive weapons at the event.
The pair are due to be reported to the relevant auithorities.
Sergeant Judson Howie has confirmed that police patrols will continue during the event to “ensure the safety” of those attending.
He said: “We are working alongside partners to ensure the safety of the public at Links Market.
“Officers will be on patrols during the event. We would encourage anyone thinking about coming to Links Market to behave in a responsible manner to ensure the safety of all attendees.
“Anyone with concerns can approach officers or contact Police Scotland on 101.”
