Two teenagers have been charged after a 12-year-old boy was attacked in a Dundee alleyway on Friday.

The incident occurred near the city’s High Street at around 9pm. A 14-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were also attacked.

The 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers have charged two boys, aged 15 and 13, in connection with the incident. The pair are due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

The investigation is still ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Sergeant McKay of the City Centre Community Team said: “Police Scotland takes incidents of violence extremely seriously. There is no place for such behaviour in our city centre, and we want to reassure the public that robust action will always be taken against those who engage in violent conduct.

“We are committed to ensuring the city centre remains a safe environment for residents, businesses and visitors.”
