A local authority has called in the police after a virtual meeting was hacked with pornographic material.
This week Angus Council’s special arrangements committee was shut down temporarily after it was infiltrated by inappropriate images.
A spokesman for the authority said the issue, which happened on Zoom on Tuesday, has been reported to police.
He said: “The matters that took place during an online Angus Council committee meeting on Tuesday have been reported to Police Scotland and as such it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.”
It’s not the first time Zoom meetings, which are being used increasingly by organisations during lockdown, has had problems with hackers.
Earlier this month, families were subjected to child sex abuse images and racial slurs after a Scottish Swimming virtual workout was infiltrated.
The Zoom event, which offered youngsters the chance to train live alongside star swimmers, was flooded with abusive footage within minutes of starting.
Scottish Swimming apologised for the incident and confirmed it had been reported to police.
