An elderly woman has died and another remains in hospital following a “head-on” collision in Perth.

Emergency services were called to the incident on Saturday afternoon, involving a white Dacia Duster and a black Nissan Micra on the B996 between the A912 Bein Inn Road and Glenfarg.

Both female drivers of the cars were taken to Ninewells Hospital.

Police Scotland said the 82-year-old driver of the Nissan Micra died on Monday, and the 58-year-old driver of the Dacia Duster remains in hospital.

Officers are urging anyone with information regarding the crash to come forward.

Sergeant John McDiarmid said: “Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch.

“If you have dash-cam, please check the footage for anything of significance. Any information could prove vital as we establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
