A man has been charged after a two-car crash which resulted in a woman being airlifted to hospital on a major road on Wednesday evening.
At around 5.10pm on July 27, emergency services were called following the collision on the A90 between Angus and Aberdeenshire, near the North Water Bridge.
As a result of the crash, a woman was airlifted to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance, which had a critical care team on board, and her passenger was taken to the same hospital by ambulance.
Medical staff have described both their conditions as stable.
The road was closed for more than two hours as police investigated and the crash was cleared, reopening to traffic at around 7.30pm.
A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged with alleged road traffic offences.
He has been released on an undertaking and is due to appear in court at a later date.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.10pm on Wednesday, July 27, police were called to a two vehicle crash on the A90 northbound near the North Water Bridge, near to Edzell Woods, Aberdeenshire.
“The female driver of one of the cars was taken by air ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Her passenger was taken by ambulance to the same hospital. Both their conditions are described as stable by medical staff.
“The passenger and driver of the second car did not require hospital treatment.
“A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged with alleged road traffic offences. He was released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.
“The road was reopened around 7.30pm.”
