Woman arrested after man, 62, seriously injured in disturbance

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident on Saturday evening, police said.

A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a disturbance at a flat in Lochgelly.

Emergency crews rushed to Martin Crescent in Ballingry after the alarm was raised at around 7pm on Saturday January 10. The injured man was taken to hospital for urgent treatment.

A 26-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident, police confirm.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Saturday, January 10, we were called to a report of a 62-year-old man seriously injured at a property on Martin Crescent, Ballingry, Lochgelly.

“Emergency services attended, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 26-year-old woman has been arrested in connection.

“An investigation remains ongoing, and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.

“There is not believed to be any risk to the wider public; however, police remain in the area, and anyone with information or concerns can approach them.”
