A woman has been charged after a blaze took hold of a kitchen at a property in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to Campbell Street in Banff at around 5.21pm on Sunday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service dispatched three appliances and a specialist unit to the scene as the inferno took hold of the kitchen on the ground floor.
The blaze was extinguished and a female received treatment from the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Police have now charged a 38-year-old woman in connection with the incident.
She is due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Monday September 23.
A spokesperson from the force said: “Around 5.40pm on Sunday, September 22, 2024, officers received a report of a fire at a property on Campbell Street, Banff.
“A 38-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Monday, September 23, 2024.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.21pm on Sunday, September 22 to reports of a fire at Campbell Street in Banff.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and specialist resources to the scene and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting the kitchen on the ground floor of a residential property.
“One female casualty was handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
