A woman has appeared in court charged with the killing of a supermarket security guard.
The 61-year-old Asda worker was pronounced dead in the store at Westway Retail Park, Arbroath, at around 7.25pm on Sunday.
Natasha Smith appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court on Tuesday where she was charged with theft by shoplifting, two counts of assaulting, threatening or abusing retail staff, and culpable homicide.
The 37-year-old, from Arbroath, made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Emergency services were called to the supermarket on Sunday evening to reports of an unresponsive man.
The security guard was pronounced dead at the scene while Smith was arrested in connection with assault.
She is due to appear in court again within the next eight days.
