Woman dead after crashing Mini Cooper outside farm

An appeal for information has been launched after a woman died following a crash outside a farm in Perthshire.

Police were called to the junction for Stanley on the A9, just outside Newmill Farm, after receiving reports of a crash involving a white Mini Cooper at around 9.20pm on Thursday.

Emergency services arrived and a 55-year-old woman, the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed northbound while collision investigation took place and reopened five hours later.

An appeal for witnesses or anyone with any information to come forward has now been launched.

Inspector Gregory Burns said: “We are appealing for anyone in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch as you may have information that could assist with our investigation.

“Road users are also asked to check their dash-cam to see if they have footage that could help with enquiries.”
