A woman has died and two men and children have been taken to hospital after a serious car crash on the A90 in Tayside.

Emergency services were called to the scene near to Errol at around 11.05am on Friday where a black Nissan Micra had become involved in a collision.

Despite the efforts of rescue personnel a 32-year-old female passenger died at the scene.

The four other occupants; a 29-year-old man, a 20-year-old man, a 7-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

The A90 was closed for around six hours while Police Scotland carried out a full crash investigation.

Officers said they were conducting an extensive investigation and appealed for witnesses to the fatal crash.

Police sergeant Strachan of the Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time.

“We are conducting extensive enquiries into the circumstances of this incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would like to thank members of the public for their patience while we carried out our investigation into this serious collision.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting 1349 of August 11, 2022.
