An elderly woman has died in hospital after being struck by a car near a bus stop in Montrose.
Emergency services were called to a parking area near a bus stop in the Teviot Place area of the town at around 6.35pm on Thursday after a black Mercedes Benz struck a 78-year-old woman.
She was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, where she was pronounced dead on Sunday evening.
No one else was injured as a result of the crash.
Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing at this time and police are asking any witnesses to come forward at this time.
Sergeant William Strachan of the Tayside Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman involved in the incident.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam or private CCTV from the area.
“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 3045 of February 9.”
