The body of a woman has been discovered following a multi-agency search operation near the River Tay on Monday.
Police, HM Coastguard crews and RNLI lifeboats were all in attendance following reports of a missing woman in Wormit at around 1.15am.
A search and rescue helicopter was also mobilised from Prestwick to assist with the search.
After more than nine hours, the body of a woman was found near the Tayport area. The death is not being treated as suspicious, however, enquiries are still ongoing.
A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.15am on Monday, 16 December, 2024, we received a report of a woman missing in Wormit.
“Officers, along with partner agencies, were involved in an extensive search of the area, and around 10.55am, a body was found near the Tayport area.
“Enquiries are ongoing but the death is not believed to be suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
