A Coastguard spokesperson said: “On Saturday afternoon, HM Coastguard was alerted to a female walker that had fallen approximately 30 meters from the coastal path near Cruden Bay.

“Coastguard rescue teams from Cruden Bay, Peterhead, MacDuff and Portsoy, Peterhead RNLI lifeboat, a coastguard helicopter, Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service were all sent.

“The woman was winched onto the helicopter before being passed into the care of the ambulance service to be taken to hospital.”

Kyle Murray, Peterhead RNLI station coxswain, says: “This was a great example of teamwork between the emergency services.
