Two young kayakers had to be rescued after their inflatable craft was pushed out to sea by the wind.
The pair, a boy and a girl, found themselves unable to paddle back to shore after being caught by an offshore breeze off Portsoy, Aberdeenshire.
An adult on the shore raised the alarm and an RNLI lifeboat team arrived on the scene at around 3.27pm on Saturday, June 26.
When the lifeboat team arrived, the kayak was found to be about 2km, just over a mile. out at sea.
The lifeboat team were assisted by Coastguard helicopter, Rescue 151, from Inverness.
Helmsman Ritchie Wallace put the lifeboat alongside the kayak, with the youngsters brought aboard by crew members Rob Smith and Kyle Park.
A paramedic was on site when they were taken back to the harbour, but there were no reports of any injuries.
