Boris Johnson has pulled out of a planned visit to a vaccination clinic after a family member tested positive for coronavirus.

It’s despite official guidance no longer requiring vaccinated contacts of coronavirus cases to self-isolate.

Johnson would have faced questions about his attendance at a ‘bring your own booze’ party held at Downing Street in May 2020 – at the height of the pandemic.

A Downing Street spokesman said: “The Prime Minister will no longer be visiting Lancashire today due to a family member testing positive for coronavirus.

“He will follow the guidance for vaccinated close contacts, including daily testing and limiting contact with others.”

The Prime Minister has faced calls to resign after admitting that he attended the gathering.

Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross led calls for Johnson to resign, saying that his position was ‘untenable’ following the admission, which he made in the Commons during PMQs.
