Scots returning from holidays in Croatia will need to quarantine for 14 days when they return, starting this weekend.
However, people getting back from Portugal will no longer have to self-isolate after the Scottish Government announced a so-called “air bridge” with the country.
Croatia, Austria and Switzerland and Trinidad and Tobago are the latest to be added to the list of countries where Scots cannot enjoy quarantine-free travel.
It comes amid a “significant” rise in the number of coronavirus cases in these nations, the Scottish Government said.
All these changes will come into effect from 4am on Saturday.
Justice secretary Humza Yousaf said: “We cannot emphasise enough that if people choose to travel abroad, they must be aware that quarantine requirements may change while they are away.
“The same can be said for the rules within the country or territory people are travelling to.
“If people do travel from any country that is not exempt from the requirements, they will be required to quarantine for 14 days on return.
“Please check the Scottish Government website for more information on what this means.”
