Scots returning from holidays in Denmark, Iceland and Slovakia will need to quarantine for 14 days starting from Saturday.
The Caribbean island of Curacao will also be placed on Scotland’s travel quarantine list.
The four countries are the latest to be moved from exempt status to requiring quarantine from returning travellers after a “significant increase” in coronavirus cases in each of the territories.
It means that from 4am on Saturday, anyone arriving in Scotland from Denmark, Iceland, Slovakia or Curacao will have to isolate at home or at another fixed address for a fortnight.
The nations have also been placed on England’s quarantine list by the UK Government.
Failure to comply with requirement to quarantine can result in a fine of £480 in Scotland.
Justice secretary Humza Yousaf said: “Putting in place quarantine requirements on those arriving in the UK from various parts of the world is a key line of defence in our efforts to suppress the spread of the virus.
“Managing the risk of importing cases from communities with high risks of transmission is vital in our efforts to do this.
“The advice remains that people should think very hard before committing to non-essential travel abroad.
“We are in the midst of a global pandemic and the situation in many countries can change suddenly.”
