Humza Yousaf is to face First Minister’s Questions as pro-Palestinian protesters climbed onto the Scottish Parliament building.
The group said they are not part of an organisation.
As reporters shouted questions, one member of the group, who all have their faces covered, said: “We’re here to put pressure on the Scottish Government to take action against arms exports to Israel.”
A Scottish Parliament spokesperson said: “Protesters have gained access to the roof and unfurled a banner. Police Scotland are in attendance.
“There is no disruption to parliament business and public access to the building is unaffected.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We’re aware of the protest and officers are in attendance.”
It comes as the First Minister and his deputy are accused of misleading the Scottish Parliament over the demand to hand over WhatsApps sent during the Covid pandemic.
The Scottish Government has published a timeline of its dealings with the UK Covid Inquiry, saying it has handed over all the messages it held.
The timeline reveals the Inquiry first asked for relevant WhatsApps nine months ago.
Last week, Humza Yousaf said the Government had only been asked to submit the messages in September.
The Scottish Conservatives and Labour have accused Yousaf and deputy first minister Shona Robison of misleading parliament.
The Scottish Government said it has co-operated with the Covid Inquiry.
