Police Scotland confirmed they received a complaint about Michael Matheson amid a row over an £11,000 roaming charge bill on an iPad.
After confirming they received a complaint regarding the situation, Police Scotland confirmed that no further action would be taken after assessing the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A complaint which had been received has been assessed and no further action will be taken by Police Scotland at this time.”
It comes after it was revealed the SNP MSP had clocked up a huge bill on his parliamentary device during a family trip to Morocco last year.
Matheson insists that the iPad was solely used for parliamentary purposes.
The taxpayer was initially set to foot the bill but following pressure the health secretary decided to pay the amount in full.
It comes after Matheson was threatened with a vote of no confidence should he refuse to hand over the iPad he used to run up the bill.
Matheson has insisted the Parliament had “access to all of the data on the iPad when they looked at it back in January”.
