Rishi Sunak has U-turned on his decision not to attend the COP27 summit in Egypt.
The Prime Minister had previously ruled out appearing at the climate conference, insisting it would be right for him to remain in the UK to focus on economic challenges.
However, Sunak announced on Wednesday that he will now travel to Sharm El-Sheikh to participate.
He said he will attend the summit to deliver on the legacy of COP26, which took place in Glasgow in 2021.
COP27 is taking part in Egypt from November 6 until November 18.
Former prime minister Boris Johnson will also be in attendance at the summit.
He said that he is “very happy to go” and that he has a “particular interest” in the issue.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon last week confirmed that she will travel to Egypt for COP27.
