Holidaymakers who have had both doses of their coronavirus vaccination will not be required to self-isolate on their return to England from amber list countries from July 19.
UK transport secretary Grant Shapps announced the changes, which apply to England only, in the Commons on Thursday.
Travellers will still be required to take a test three days before returning, the pre-departure test, demonstrating they’re negative before they travel and a PCR test on or before day two.
However, they will no longer be required to take a day eight test.
Shapps pledged to work with the devolved administrations in order to make a “safe, sustainable and robust return” to international travel.
It comes ahead of the lifting of a significant majority of restrictions across England from July 19.
In Scotland, the Scottish Government has set a date of August 9 for the lifting of remaining major legal restrictions.
On Wednesday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said there would be no sudden changes to self-isolating rules amid a third wave of coronavirus.
