A Scottish businessman who disappeared after travelling to Kenya on a work trip has been found dead.
Campbell Scott, who was a senior director for data analytics company FICO, arrived in Nairobi on February 16.
The Times reported the 58-year-old left the JW Marriott Hotel in the affluent district of Westlands later that day and did not return.
His body was reportedly found in the Makongo Forest, about 110 kilometres southeast of Nairobi, by local herders.
Scott, who was employed by FICO for over a decade, has been described as funny and kind by his employer.
A company spokesperson said: “FICO can confirm that Nairobi police have identified the body of Campbell Scott, a FICO employee. Campbell went missing last Sunday while on a business trip to Nairobi. We are not sharing further details, as the investigation is in the hands of the police.
“We are devastated by this tragic news. Campbell was a leader in our international Scores business. He joined FICO in 2014 and was instrumental in introducing Scores to new markets and growing our business with existing partnerships. We mourn his passing and will miss his humour and kindness.
“Our thoughts are with Campbell’s family and friends.”
It’s understood that Kenyan police have detained two suspects – a taxi driver and a club waiter – as investigations continue.
An autopsy is expected to take place on Tuesday to determine the cause of death.
