Scotland has once again erupted into applause to thank NHS staff and other key workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
Now in its seventh week, the Clap for our Carers campaign saw people voice their gratitude for the contributions of doctors, nurses, emergency service employees, shop workers, delivery drivers and more.
At 8pm on Thursday, Scots showed their appreciation by cheering, applauding and banging pots and pans on their doorstep, while cars, trains and even boats sounded their horns.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “To our NHS and care workers, and to everyone doing essential work to keep the country going at this time… thank you so much.”
The first national applause took place on Thursday, March 26 and has been impeccably observed in the weeks since.
Police Scotland said their officers have been taking part each week to “appreciate the hard work from key workers across the country”.
Fire crews at the NHS Louisa Jordan have been out in front of the temporary hospital sharing their appreciation.
Meanwhile, Coatdyke viaduct in North Lanarkshire will light up blue to show solidarity with key workers and frontline NHS staff across the country.
