Scotland has recorded another 244 cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

There have been no deaths reported among those who have tested positive.

It is the highest daily figure since May 6, when 272 cases were recorded. The latest tally represents 3.7% of newly individuals.

There are 259 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus – of these patients, seven were in intensive care.

A total of 104 of the cases were in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, while Lanarkshire recorded 62 cases.

Those who live in Glasgow, East or West Dunbartonshire, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and North or South Lanarkshire have been told not to visit other households indoors.

On Monday social gatherings across Scotland, whether indoors or outdoors, will officially be limited to six people in a tightening of restrictions.

Those six are from a maximum of two households, with the rule applying both in people’s homes and also public places, including cafes, bars or restaurants.

Children under 12 from either of the two households do not count towards that total of six.
