Another 37 people with coronavirus have died in Scotland, as the country recorded 1248 new cases overnight.
The latest daily figures were revealed by the Scottish Government on Tuesday.
The daily test positivity rate is 9.7%, up from 8.3% on Monday.
There are 1249 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus – 95 of whom are receiving treatment in intensive care.
The First Minister announced the figures before enforcing the toughest coronavirus restrictions on 11 council areas – mostly in the west of Scotland.
The areas – with a combined population of more than 2m people – put into the top tier of the five-level coronavirus alert system are: City of Glasgow, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, West Dunbartonshire, North Lanarkshire, South Lanarkshire, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire, Stirling and West Lothian.
The decision was widely expected, with Nicola Sturgeon previously suggesting it had been lined up to ease the pressure on hospitals and improve the chances of lifting some rules at Christmas.
