The number of people who have been discharged from hospital after battling coronavirus has overtaken the number of deaths from the disease in Scotland.
Since March 5, a total of 4229 Scots treated in hospital for Covid have been able to go home to continue their recovery.
Meanwhile, combining separate daily and weekly figures on Covid-19 deaths in Scotland, 4224 people have lost their lives to the disease.
It’s the first time since April that hospital recoveries been higher than the number of Covid-19 fatalities in Scotland.

Weekly coronavirus deaths fell into double figures in June and then single figures in July – from a shocking peak of 659 fatalities in the last full week of April.
Two deaths of confirmed Covid-19 patients have been recorded so far this week, while six deaths involving confirmed or suspected coronavirus were registered last week by National Records of Scotland (NRS).
But the falling death toll comes as new cases have risen considerably in Scotland in the last month, in part due to significant clusters in Aberdeen and Perthshire.
Excess deaths
A recent outbreak at Aberdeen pubs led to hundreds of infections and a three-week local lockdown – but it is now deemed under control.
An ongoing cluster at the 2 Sisters food processing plant in Coupar Angus had 177 cases associated with it as of Friday.
The seven-day average of daily cases has risen from 14 at the start of August to 67 on Saturday.
The numbers in hospital with Covid have risen slightly in recent days, up by ten since Monday to stand at 258.
There was just one patient in intensive care with coronavirus at the start of the week – now there are five.
