‘Do not eat’: Asda recalls packs of fishcakes over fears they contain pieces of metaliStock

Asda has recalled packs of fishcakes over fears they contain pieces of metal.

Issuing a notice via the Food Standards Agency (FSA), the supermarket giant has pulled its Exceptional by ASDA Beer Battered Cod Fishcakes from the shelves.

It comes over fears that pieces of plastic or metal may be inside, making the product unsafe to eat.

The recall notice affects the 290g pack size with best-before dates from May 1 to May 5.

An Asda statement read: “If you have purchased Exceptional by ASDA Beer Battered Fishcakes with the above use by dates (no other use by dates are affected), please bring it back to your nearest store where you will be given a full refund.

“You do not need your receipt. We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
