Insurance broker charged over fraud and embezzlement

A man has been charged in connection with fraud and embezzlement in Dumfries.

The 69-year-old was acting as an investment and insurance broker in the town.

He is due to appear at Dumfries Sheriff Court at a later date.

Police Scotland said enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Further enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing and anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference 2071 of March 26, 2025.”
