iStockScottish businesses have been fined over £1m after being raided by the UK’s Immigration, Compliance and Enforcement (ICE) team.
The Home Office released a table of its illegal working civil penalties for UK employers between January 1 and March 31, 2025.
Eighteen premises in Scotland were fined after illegal workers were encountered, with some raids conducted in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Fife, among other towns and cities.
Five premises in Glasgow, including a car wash and a takeaway, were among those fined.
A number of stores and a barbershop were also fined by the Home Office.
Some of the heaviest fines were over £130,000, with the total amount across the country reaching £1.025m.
