Exploding beer cans recalled as they could 'cause injury'

A batch of exploding beer cans has been recalled due to concerns they “could cause injury”.

Lucky Saint issued the recall of their Hazy IPA 330ml product via the Food Standards Agency (FSA) on Thursday.

The warning came following reports cans may become over-pressurised and rupture unexpectedly.

The brewery said that products with the best before date of August 13, 2027, should not be opened.

Customers who purchased the products have been urged to contact the brewery directly for a full refund.

A spokesperson said: “Lucky Saint is recalling Hazy IPA products because some cans may become over-pressurised and rupture unexpectedly.

“There is a risk that the cans may explode which may cause injury

“If you have bought any of the above products, do not drink them. Instead, follow the guidance set down in the Point of Sale Notice (POSN) below. Do not return the item to store.”
