Heavy rain is expected to sweep across Scotland later this week.
A yellow weather warning has been put in place between 3am on Friday and 12pm on Saturday.
The rain is expected to stretch across Perthshire and Dundee, as well as up to Aberdeenshire.
The Met Office said the downpour could lead to flooding and disruption to transport.
Those heading out have been warned to expect delays to bus and train services, as well as spray and flooding on the roads.
STV Weather presenter Philip Petrie explained that the yellow warning has been put in place in the north east as parts of Moray and Aberdeenshire have already experienced a whole month’s worth of rain in December already.
He said: “Today we have seen a brief respite from the unsettled conditions. Generally it has been a drier day with some showers in the far north east.
“As we look ahead towards the weekend, unfortunately things are turning changeable as a vigorous area of low pressure sends a frontal system west to east across the country.
“Most of us will have showers on Friday, with eastern areas from Angus up towards Aberdeen seeing the heaviest and most persistent rain.
“This is where we have the yellow weather warning as already this month parts of Moray and Aberdeenshire have seen a whole month’s worth of rain in the first six or seven days of the month.
“Added to this is the risk of snow melt from the mountains adding to already high river levels in the area, so there is the risk of localised flooding.”
