A frozen chocolate dessert has been pulled from supermarket shelves over fears it contains pieces of plastic.

Issuing a recall notice via the Food Standards Agency (FSA), Tesco has recalled its Finest Summer Edition Chocolate Affogato Dessert.

Tesco said the presence of small pieces of clear plastic from the dessert’s packaging may make it unsafe to eat.

The recall notice affects 538g pack sizes with best before of dates up to and including April 2027.

Customers who have purchased the product can return it to any Tesco store for a full refund with no receipt required.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “No other Tesco products are affected by this recall.
