Parts of Scotland have officially entered their second heatwave of the summer as temperatures soared above average for August for the third day in a row.
The sunshine and heat comes amid two Met Office weather warnings for thunderstorms across the country.
Dyce in Aberdeenshire recorded 25.4C at 2.46pm on Wednesday – eight degrees above average for the time of year.
This marks an official heatwave – which requires temperatures in a location to be above 25C for three days in a row.
Many other parts of Scotland are set to reach heatwave criteria on Thursday.
However, some places could see torrential downpours as thunderstorms sweep across the country.
There is the chance of up to 30mm of rain falling in an hour, or as much as 50mm where we see repeated thunderstorms moving through.
But it is important to note most places will stay dry.
On Thursday, a second thunderstorm warning covers the entirety of Scotland but come Friday, things will settle down again with cooler temperatures.
