Homes have been left without power and a number of train services have been cancelled across Scotland after the country was hit by two storms over the weekend.
As of Monday morning, a total of 265 unplanned outages had been logged with Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN).
Around 98,000 households are estimated to have lost power as a result of Storm Malik on Saturday.
All but 7500 were expected to be reconnected by Sunday evening, however it is anticipated that a number – mainly in Aberdeenshire – could be without power until Tuesday.
Meanwhile, ScotRail cancelled all services after 6pm on Sunday as a precautionary measure.
In an update on Monday, the rail operator said that Network Rail would complete safety checks on some routes before being opened back up for passenger services.
Engineers say they’ve had an “exceptionally challenging weekend” and they’re still trying to clear lines across Scotland.
ScotRail explained that whilst some of the routes have been completed, some can only be done in daylight.
Due to limited replacement transport being secured, ScotRail has advised passengers to make their own alternative arrangements.
The A92 in Aberdeenshire was closed at Bridge of Muchalls and Stonehaven after a lorry overturned on Monday.
Another lorry crashed through a barrier on the M90 after being “blown off” the road on Sunday night.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident at the southbound carriageway of the Scotstoun junction at around 8.55pm.
The crash has left only one lane open at junction one of the M90, with recovery put on hold until Monday due to high winds.
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
