Parts of the country are being braced for heavy rain ahead of the weekend.
A yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office, coming into force from 6am on Friday until 6pm the same day.
The country will see a few wet days before the heavy rain moves in.
The warning covers Angus, Perth and Kinross, Aberdeenshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Scottish Borders, East and South Ayrshire and South Lanarkshire.
Forecasters have predicted the potential for flooding and travel disruption in the affected areas,
The Met Office has warned that high ground is likely to see the highest rainfall totals, with 30-40mm possible in the space of six hours or so.
Some places could see close to 70mm by the time the rain eases on Friday evening.

A yellow warning for strong and gusty winds will also be in place between 8am and 3pm on Friday, covering Dumfries and Galloway, East Ayrshire, and South Ayrshire.
The warning comes days after some parts of the country experienced snow and freezing rain.
