Scotland is being braced for icy conditions as heavy snow which fell over the last week continues to thaw.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for ice across much of the country, which the forecaster warns could lead to slips and falls.
The alert will come into force from 6pm on Tuesday and remain in place until 10am on Wednesday.
It comes as some areas have been blighted by flooding in recent days after heavy snow fell in North and North Eastern parts of the country.
A dip in temperature could see snowmelt turn icy, with the forecaster warning that clear spells will lead to ice developing on untreated surfaces on Tuesday night.
Wintry showers are also expected to move inland from the west overnight.
The Met Office is urging the public to plan to leave their homes at least five minutes earlier to reduce the need to rush and the risk of accidents, slips and falls.
Anyone making a journey on foot is advised to try to use pavements along main roads, which are less likely to be slippery. Cyclists should try to stick to main roads, which are more likely to have been treated.
